The more you give the more you receive , is the thought behind celebrating the joy of giving week. It is the time when not only students but the faculty and staff come together to share their money, time and resources with the underprivileged. It gives an immense sense of satisfaction and fulfilment to give the underprivileged children a chance to improve their lives and lessen their hardships.
Swayam Siddhi College of Management and Research organized the CSR activity of “Joy of giving” program on 21st December 2019 at Aulia Masjid, Shantinagar. We visited the place and gathered children of local slum and found that they didn’t have money for their livelihood and cannot afford materials required for play and study.
The Faculty staff and students of the SSCMR family contributed new and reusable items of clothing, books, toys, shoes, woollens, bed sheets and bags. The needy children were invited to collect these things as per their requirement. More than 80 children were directly benefitted by this program in terms of receiving useful stuff. The participants and volunteers enjoyed this program.
The participants derived everlasting joy when they saw that they too can make a positive difference to someone”s life. It is a great way to nurture a sense of gratitude towards the society we live in. People appreciated the Director and event Co- ordinator and suggested that similar type of program should be organized in future.
